Taylor Swift reignites feud with Kim Kardashian in Time Person of the Year interview

Swift slams Kardashian for 'playing the victim' in 2016 phone call leak

Bad blood between the two stars has simmered for years, following a leaked phone call in which Kardashian appeared to expose Swift's true feelings about Kanye West.

In an interview for Time magazine published on December 6, Swift opened up about the ongoing feud with Kardashian, saying that she still feels "pain" over the way the phone call was handled. She accused Kardashian of "playing the victim" and said that the reality star had "crossed a line" by releasing the recording.

The rift between Swift and Kardashian dates back to 2016, when Kardashian's husband, Kanye West, released a song called "Famous" that included the lyrics, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous." Swift claimed that she never gave West permission to use her name in the song, and she publicly denounced him for the lyrics.

In response, Kardashian released a series of Snapchat videos that appeared to show Swift giving West permission to use her name. However, Swift later claimed that the videos had been edited and that she had never actually given West her consent.

The feud has continued to simmer ever since, with both Swift and Kardashian making thinly veiled digs at each other in interviews and on social media. In her Time interview, Swift said that she hopes to eventually move on from the feud, but she also made it clear that she does not believe Kardashian is sorry for her role in the conflict.

"I'm not going to let her define who I am," Swift said. "I'm not going to let her make me feel like I'm the bad guy in this situation. I'm not going to let her play the victim anymore."
